Perhaps you have rowdy neighbours, or your property has been damaged. Maybe a client hasn’t paid you for services you have provided, or you have had something stolen. Issuing a denuncia is just the same as making a complaint to your local police station back in the UK.

Alternatively you can telephone 0034 902 102 112 and ask for an English speaking operator. They will go through the process with you, step by step… and arrange for you to go along to your local police station to sign the paperwork. This number is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They will give you a personal reference number. When you get to the Police station, then show that straight away to avoid you queueing behind everyone who are making denuncias in the usual way.

Things that can be reported to the Police over the phone:
* Theft with violence and larceny
o Breaking into cars / stores / houses.
o Documents and/or belongings
o Robberies (bag snatching)o Petty larceny (pick-pocketing)
o Swindles/ frauds
o Damage to property (house, car…)
o Loss of documents/ effects.
o Objects recoveries.
o Cars
o Documents and or belongings

IMPORTANT:
Formal reports to the Police regarding aggravated assault or with dangerous weapons, or formal reports against a perpetrator whose personal information is known, won’t be received by phone. Those reports to the Police will always have to be made in person at the closest Police Station.

Crimes requiring immediate Police action: those related to offences against a person’s well-being, and those especially complex, must be reported in person at the Police Station.

Once the report has been lodged by a telephone call, and if the complainant agrees with its content, it must be signed at the closest National Police Station within the following 48 hours. Telephone Reports take precedence over those made at the Police Station, except in justified cases.
